[URGENT HIRING: Science Research Assistants]

We are still looking for research assistants for a health-related research program in UP Manila with program leaders Dr. Jinky Lu and Dr. Teodoro Herbosa starting in January/February 2023.

We are looking for science research assistants with bachelor's degree in the following fields:

(1) Chemistry

(2) Environmental Science

(3) Computer Science / Computer Engineering

(4) Health-related (ie., nursing, public health)

Minimum Requirements:

-Education: Bachelor’s degree

(1) Chemistry / Environmental Science - obtaining samples, coordinating the delivery of samples from the study site to UP NSRI, and communicating between UP NSRI and the study team

(2) Computer science and computer engineering - background in software and programming

(3) Health-related (ie., nursing, public health) - health assessments

-Background on data collection and writing

-Good communication skills

-Work set-up: face-to-face in National Institutes of Health, Pedro Gil, Manila, and South Cotabato

-Duration of study: more than 6 months

-Starting Period: January/February 2023

Estimated Starting Salary: Research Assistant I Salary (around 20k or more)

Appointment: Rank (dependent on qualifications) Tenure Track

QUALIFICATION: Ph.D. in Chemistry or allied fields. History of successful grant application is desirable. Preferred fields of specialization are analytical chemistry, biochemistry, inorganic chemistry.

The successful candidate is expected to:

  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses,
  • Demonstrate excellence in teaching,
  • Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in their theses,
  • Head his/her own research laboratory,
  • Secure research grants, and
  • Participate in extension activities.

RANK AND SALARY: Dependent on qualifications and experience.
